DESCRIPTION

Nectaroscordum siculum ssp. bulgaricum. Circa 1873, the Mediterranean Sicilian Honey Lily has delicate, yet substantive, 2"-wide umbels of 20 to 30 pendant greenish-white florets, flushed purple and edged in white. Each umbrella-like umbel emerges from a papery sheath after which the little nodding buds spread, growing on wiry 4" stems. As the buds elevate, the flowers open to reveal interior green eyes and pink to deep plum striations. Its strappy, ground-level foliage usually browns out prior to flowering. Rabbit-, rodent- and deer-resistant, A. siculum bulgaricum should be planted in full sun to partial shade. Bulb size: 8 cm/up. May/June. HZ: 6-10. Height: 32" to 36". We are very sorry, but due to state agricultural restrictions, we are not permitted to ship Allium bulbs to Idaho, or to the following five counties in the State of Washington: Adams, Benton, Franklin, Grant and Klickitat.

Allium are The Art & Soul of Spring and Summer.

Allium siculum is a broadleaf deciduous perennial bulb / corm / tuber with green foliage and pink, purple and green flowers in spring and summer. It can grow 6 IN - 18 IN - wide, 24 IN - 36 IN - tall. It contributes grassy texture to the garden. Attractive to bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Deer and rabbit resistant. To grow well, it prefers sun - dappled shade and regular - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in summer. Grows best in well-drained, rich, average and gritty soil. In need of something heat tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant? This may be a good option. #rock garden#cutting garden#Border plant#award winner#container plant

This allium produces elegant and unusual 4" wide umbels comprised of bell-shaped florets. The sage-green and cream-colored bells emerge from a papery sheath to expand over time, gradually lifting their faces skyward to reveal pink and plum inner striations. Grows 32" to 36" high. Alliums are deer, rabbit, and rodent resistant.
