Product Description

Allium Karataviense, also known as Turkestan Onion or Ivory Flowering Garlic, is a unique and enchanting addition to any garden or floral arrangement. Native to the rocky slopes of Central Asia, this ornamental onion is valued for its delicate beauty and distinct characteristics.

This giant headed stocky Allium produces very large white flowers with a hint of pink throughout May and June. Broad, flat green leaves have a purple streak creating a great contrast with the flowers. Reaching a compact 25cm height, this Allium is an ideal choice for pots and rockeries or featured at the front of the border.

Growing at a glance…

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil at approx 10cm apart and at a depth of roughly 3-4 times the size of the bulb. Larger bulbs should be spaced 20cm apart. Leave untouched for a number of years until the bulbs have multiplied and divide if necessary. Smaller alliums can be grown in containers, but ensure it's large enough to space the bulbs an appropriate distance apart.
