Love flowers? Get your fill with sturdy Mountain Laurel (Kalmia latifolia) makes an exceptional shrub to feature in your garden.

This rock-solid performer brings star power to your borders. The strong, multi-branched growth habit and evergreen foliage are a winner all year-long...even in the dreary dead of winter.

There is always something amazing happening with these exquisite ornamental shrubs. Plant them where you'll notice their beautiful features all year-long.

Watch in late winter as the new flower buds start developing on the tops of the gray branches. Over time, they will lengthen and expand into open clusters.

Look close as they morph quickly into ridged, red flower buds. The red buds open to pink, cup-shaped blooms.

Single flowers burst open here and there...giving you a glimpse of the flower power to come!

Mountain Laurel blooms are some of the prettiest in the horticultural world. The geometric intricacies are captivating and deserve time spent studying them.

Over time, Mountain Laurel will produce thousands of blooms that cover the shrub from top to bottom. A long flowering hedge of this modern cultivar is an outstanding pageant!

Make them yours this season. In small space gardens, keep one in a container as a long-lived specimen to dazzle you every year.

Choose our commercial-grade plant materials for an enormous head's start. Don't forget the Nature Hills Root Booster as life-long support for the tiny rootlets with symbiotic ingredients.

How to Grow

This native shrub hails from most areas of the East Coast. They prefer part shade, or no more than four hours of sunlight a day.

Give them a planting side in well-drained soil. If you want to use them in an area that stays soggy...bring in additional soil for a planting mound three feet wide and 18 inches high.

With a moderate amount of water given on a regular schedule, you'll enjoy the best flowering display. They'll appreciate pine straw or pine bark mulch over their root zone, but please pull it back away from touching the stems.

Prune after the flowers are done to shape your shrubs by eliminating crossing branches. Periodically select a few of the thickest branches to remove for a rejuvenated plant.
