An extremely popular, multiple award-winning iris with flawless form and unique, astonishing coloring. Deep black-red standards sport yellow sprinkles, and red-brown hues pepper and streak ruffled falls of cream to gold. The red-brown darkens toward the bottom of the lower petals to form a ½" band along the edge. Dark standards give way to intricate patterns along the falls of Sorbonne Bearded Iris. It's dramatic and intensely ruffled, a flower form worthy of its Award of Merit by the American Iris Society. Sorbonne blooms around mid to late spring, just in time for the big spring show. It's a fantastic perennial too, multiplying over the years so you can divide the rhizomes and get more Sorbonne for your garden.
